Reliable seam tracking for robot welding
Deviations from component preparation, component tolerances, differences during clamping, material distortion from the process – joints are often not welded precisely during robot welding. Instead of setting up numerous rework stations and losing time and money, it is worth investing in a seam tracking sensor such as the models in the iST ARC series from ABICOR BINZEL. The iST ARC seam tracking sensors detect deviations from 0.1 mm gap width and adjust the seam tracking in real time. This reduces rejects and rework in automated MIG/MAG and TIG welding.
The sensors are suitable for various joining processes such as arc welding, laser welding and submerged arc welding. The system can be used with all common metals such as black steel, stainless steel, stainless steel alloys and aluminum.
